Medical Business Associates (MBA) is a boutique medical billing company that has been addressing the medical billing and support service needs of medical practices since 2006. Headquartered in Matawan NJ, we are a team of 40+ professionals dedicated to the financial success of our clients. We provide a concierge level of comprehensive end-to-end RCM services. Stickler Scott


CEO and Partner

Scott Stickler is the CEO of Medical Billing Associates (MBA) and has been with the company since 2013. He runs the overall company focusing on all aspects of the firm’s activities from medical billing to the administrative functions. In addition to that Scott and his dedicated analysis team provide a host of strategic analysis services to medical practices and hospitals throughout the tristate area in the area of business advisory, revenue optimization, best practices workflow for physicians and support staff,
technology and organizational structure to the medical practices they service.

Prior to joining MBA, Scott held several senior executive positions in the financial industry. He was last a Managing Director and global head of a quantitative trading
client business for the investment bank, UBS. In this role he had full responsibility of a large scale global trading and prime brokerage servicing business focused on quantitative hedge funds. Prior to UBS, Mr. Stickler was the Chief Operating Officer for a fund of funds, technology company and broker dealer financial vertical startup organization called Saxis Group focused on providing funding, prime brokerage and electronic trading services to emerging hedge fund managers. Prior to joining Saxis, Mr. Stickler was at Morgan Stanley for 7 years where he was the head of Morgan Stanley’s U.S. electronic trading business in the Institutional Equity Division. Mr. Stickler also held various other positions in the financial industry such as a portfolio sales trader, head trader, portfolio manager/trader, and trading systems analyst across such firms as Bear Stearns, Bankers Trust and JPMorgan. Mr. Stickler started his professional career in the healthcare industry as a financial analyst at the Hospital Association of New York.

With 30 years of business management and sales experience across the financial and health care industries, Mr. Stickler is ideally suited to help our medical practice clients navigate today’s constantly changing landscape.

Mr. Stickler holds a B.S. in MIS and an M.B.A. with concentrations in MIS and Marketing, both from the State University of New York at Albany.

Kathy Saunders is the President of Medical Billing Associates (MBA), with deeply rooted healthcare experience she started the company in 2006 with the understanding that every practice is unique, and so too are their billing needs, with that knowledge she built MBA to tailor specifically to meet each client’s practice requirements.

Prior to starting MBA, Kathy held several manager positions in both medical practices and billing and collection companies. She was the manager of Insure Solutions, a medical collection company that focused on collections and arbitrations. Her addition to the company allowed Insure Solutions to add medical billing, coding and pre-authorization to services provided to their clients. Prior to Insure Solutions, Ms. Saunders held various positions in the healthcare field such as practice manager and billing manager in multi-specialty practices throughout New Jersey. She is extremely well versed in the New Jersey Personal Injury Protection guidelines.

Ms. Saunders has three decades of experience in the medical field, with experience in medical
billing, coding, collections as well as practice management.

They are continually well supported by a number of senior staff who provide insight and experience to help steer through technology questions, unconventional claim situations or any temporary challenge that may arise.
